In the early 70's we moved to the Trinity Mountains of northern California in search of adventure and to pursue an alternative lifestyle. Realizing the need to make money we looked for a profession that would afford us a way to use our energy in a positive direction. Having taken ceramics at Jr. College, we began looking at clay as a means to provide a much needed cash flow while enabling us to remain at home and develop our homestead. Not having electricity at the time we got a kick wheel and a small gas kiln. We now generate our own electricity, but continue to use the kick wheel as it's silent operation and smooth performance is conducive to the flow of our pottery making. Production pottery has never been our direction, instead we make fewer items and put more work into each piece. In the mid 90's after a vacation snorkeling with the sea turtles in Hawaii, we switched our focus to centering on a sea life theme that includes some endangered sea creatures and other varieties of marine life hoping to produce items that will increase awareness and bring joy to others. We have been a husband and wife team for 40 years and enjoy working with clay as it's flexibility and malleability is endless. Our work is constantly evolving and we hope you enjoy our creations.
Throughout our career we have shown our wares at numerous Art & Craft Festivals in California, Washington, Oregon, Nevada and Arizona. We have also received award ribbons and been selected as featured artists. Pictures of our pottery have been used by
Art Show Producers for advertising on their websites, posters, post cards, brochures and T shirts.
Most of our wall art is available at a gallery in Monterey called "From My View" at 601 Wave Street Suite 100.
